Minister Košarac Organized A Video Conference with Representatives of Leading Companies in The Real Sector in BiH

Today, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Staša Košarac, held a video conference with representatives of leading companies in the real sector in BiH, with whom he discussed the conditions and results of doing business in the new circumstances caused by the corona virus epidemic.
Minister Košarac informed his interlocutors about the measures that the relevant Ministry is actively taking in order to mitigate the negative effects on the local economy. He informed the participants of today's meeting about the list of vital products that will facilitate trade between CEFTA Parties thanks to the establishment of the so-called Green priority lanes. Minister Košarac mentioned that the final list of vital products will be defined by the CEFTA Secretariat, after analyzing the proposed lists of vital products, which were submitted by all CEFTA Parties.
Minister Košarac reminded his interlocutors that he had asked the BiH Veterinary Office for a 24-hour presence of veterinary inspectors at defined border crossings, and stated that BiH is the only country in the region where this kind of measure is operative. He also reminded that he had asked the BiH Administration for Plant Health and the BiH Indirect Taxation Authority to enable unhindered transport of goods that require a "D" permit across certain border crossings, in order to provide conditions to local farmers for the upcoming spring sowing.
Minister Košarac emphasized that it is of key importance for foreign trade to function in the current conditions, and said that all institutions must make maximum efforts to, within their competencies, contribute to facilitating the business running of local businessmen in the new circumstances.
Minister Košarac expressed his gratitude to his interlocutors for the care for employees and the fact that they take care of the protection of their health in the current epidemiological situation, emphasizing that this is a zero priority.
The common assessment of the representatives of the leading companies in the real sector in BiH is that they are satisfied with the efforts and engagement of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH in the current circumstances. They supported the initiative of the line minister Košarac to organize today's video conference, and pointed out that this is one of the examples of responsible attitude of institutions towards the real sector.
Representatives of leading companies in the real sector in BiH informed Minister Košarac about the conditions in which their companies operate and the problems they face due to the spread of the corona virus. They emphasized that, in relation to the beginning of the epidemic, the situation has normalized now, and requested that certain goods be in a favorable transport regime between CEFTA Parties.
