07/16/2020
Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Staša Košarac was informed by the competent authorities of Croatia that the Decision to extend working hours was adopted and phytosanitary inspectors are permitted to work on Saturdays at the border crossings Stara Gradiška and Nova Sela, where Plants, Plant Products and other traded goods are subject to phytosanitary inspection supervision.
"I am pleased to confirm that our efforts to solve the problem of domestic agricultural producers from BiH related to the extension of working hours and the dynamics of phytosanitary inspectors at the mentioned border crossings have borne fruit. This decision will reduce congestion at the borders, and thus enable domestic agricultural products to reach the end customer in EU countries in a shorter period of time and without deteriorating quality, "said Minister Košarac.
According to the Decision of the State Inspectorate of Croatia, the working hours of phytosanitary inspectors at the border crossings Stara Gradiška and Nova Sela will be from Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 7 PM, and on Saturday from 7 AM to 3 PM.
Minister Košarac reminded that in the past period numerous activities had been carried out to solve the difficulties faced by domestic agricultural producers and that the Ministry of Agriculture of Croatia, the Embassy of Croatia in BiH, the Embassy of BiH in Croatia and the BiH Mission to the EU had been informed about their problems.
