Minister Sarovic at meeting in Brussels on TRANSCO
11/14/2012
The subject of today’s meeting in Brussels was: the Company for Transmission for Electricity in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Changes to the Law Establishing the Company for Transmission for Electricity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, functioning and unblocking the management, board of directors and management structure. On behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the meeting attended: Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mirko Sarovic, Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska Zeljko Kovacevic, Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Erdal Trhulj, Head of the Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union, Ambassador Igor Davidovic, advisers of the RS and FBiH Prime Ministers; and on behalf of the European Commission: Stefano Sannino, the Director-General for Enlargement at the European Commission, Ms. Paola Pampaloni, Head of Unit, Bosnia and Herzegovina, European Commission, Mr. Pierre Mirel, Director for the Western Balkans in the European Commission Directorate General for Enlargement and representatives of the Energy Community.
During an open dialogue the attention was focused on clarifying key issues. Neither of the parties insisted on any conditions.
The representatives of the European Commission pointed out that they considered the amendment to the Law and other conclusions of the General Meeting of shareholders held on 3 February 2012 as one package, and that there had been no progress in realization of other conclusions – first of all the question of unblocking the Company. They recommended that this situation should be addressed as soon as possible. There were no requirements for the process of changing the Law Establishing the Company for Transmission for Electricity in BiH to be suspended.
When it comes to distribution of assets, the European Commission expects that the Company should have a financial report and adopted development and investment plan.
It was concluded that the Assembly of Shareholders should be informed about the dialog.
The Assembly of Shareholders is expected to move ahead with the realization of the conclusions, and to report on progress to the Directorate-General for Enlargement of the European Commission.
