Minister Sarovic with Chinese Ambassador: To continue strong upward trend in cooperation between BiH and China

Economic and trade cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and China is growing rapidly, and this trend needs to be continued in the coming period, highlighted during today's meeting of Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Mirko Sarovic, and the newly appointed Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to BiH, Ji Ping.
“The trade exchange with the People's Republic of China has reached €700 million which is a 100 percent increase compared to the past period and for a small country, that Bosnia and Herzegovina is, this is a significant success.The two countries signed in the past period important agreements to improve economy, such as the agreement in the sectors of agriculture and veterinary, and for the first time our country was approved the export of food of animal origin to China,” said Minister Sarovic, who is also the national coordinator for cooperation with the People's Republic of China.
It is noted that the two countries' relations have significantly improved in all fields and, thanks to a visa-free agreement, 100,000 Chinese tourists are expected to visit our country this year. Ambassador Ji Ping emphasized that China attaches great importance to the development of relations with BiH, and that a many of Chinese citizens and businessmen wish to visit and also to invest in our country.
The interlocutors agreed that it is important to continue the successful cooperation in the current year, focusing on the initiated energy and infrastructural projects such as the construction of the road infrastructure in the Republic of Srpska and the construction of Unit 7 of the thermal power plant Tuzla as well as the cooperation within the framework of the large global project "One Belt, One Road" and “16+1 Initiative“.
