Minister Sarovic with Chinese Ambassador: Support to the construction of the Block 7

Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Sarovic met today with the Chinese Ambassador to BiH, H.E Ji Ping, where they discussed the bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the People's Republic of China.

The Chinese ambassador expressed his interest in the soonest possible start of the Block 7 of the TPP Tuzla Project. Expressing clear support for the beginning of the realization of this Project, Minister Sarovic stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina must fulfill the last condition for the start of construction as soon as possible.

"I expect that the Council of Ministers of BiH will adopt a letter of support for the construction of the Block 7 of the TPP Tuzla at the next session, which would make the last step to begin the realization of this capital project," the Minister said, adding that in the early stages of the preparation of this Project in 2016, the Council of Ministers of BiH sent a letter of support to the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of China related to the construction of the Block 7 and that since then the position on this issue has not been changed.

It must be noted that this is the largest single infrastructure project in BiH, worth 1.5 billion KM, which will bring a number of benefits, reduce harmful gas emissions, secure energy security and independence and long-term thermal energy supply of the surrounding cities, but also preserve the existing and create new jobs.
