MINISTER ŠAROVIĆ AND CHINESE MINISTER SIGNED MEMORANDUM FOR PROMOTION OF TOURISM

Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations od BiH Mirko Šarović and Chinese Minister of Tourism Luo Shugang signed today in Beijing a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of tourism and facilitation of group visits between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the People’s Republic of China.
Signing of this document will significantly facilitate group trips of Chinese tourists to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and their number is expected to be around 100,000 next year, which is twice as big as in the period before the establishment of visa liberalization between the two countries. The constant increase in the number of Chinese tourists will have a direct economic impact on the social product, employment and balance of payments of the country and will have a positive impact on investment, development of accommodation capacities and various industrial and economic activities.
Minister Shugang stressed that Chinese citizens and businessmen are interested in visiting the region, especially Bosnia and Herzegovina, and suggested equal preparation of tourist operator and information service agencies in our country.
Minister Šarović also attended a conference of state co-ordinators of the 16 + 1 mechanism, chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister of China, Wang Chao. Preparations were held at the conference for the forthcoming Summit of China and Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries, which will be held in Dubrovnik next year.
