ANNOUNCEMENT FOR CEFTA WEEK PRESS RELEASE

 

The beginning of the next week will be marked by “CEFTA WEEK 2013”. As it is already well known, Bosnia and Herzegovina is this year’s Chair-in-Office of the CEFTA Agreement and in this sense - as the competent ministry and the host – the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Project “Support to Trade Policy and Capacity Building in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, financed by the European Union, is organising a series of activities on 18 and 19 November 2013 from the Programme of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s chairmanship of the CEFTA Agreement. One of the activities is an event titled “CEFTA Week”. These activities will be held in Sarajevo, in the Hotel Bristol, Fra Filipa Lastrića 2.

“CEFTA Week” starts on 18.11.2013 (Monday), at 14.30, and it will be marked by a Plenary Session where welcome addresses will be given by Mrs Ermina Salkičević-Dizdarević, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Ambassador Peter Sorensen, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina/EU Special Representative, and Mr Goran Svilanović, Secretary General of Regional Cooperation Council. Nine different sessions discussing various aspects of the CEFTA Agreement will be held during the following two days after the Plenary Session. The Programmes of all sessions, as well as of the Plenary Session, are attached to this announcement and also available on the website of MoFTER BiH at www.mvteo.gov.ba.

During the sessions, different structures of the CEFTA Agreement, international organisations, academic community and chambers of commerce from the countries in the region will offer their insights into the application of the CEFTA Agreement, as well as ideas and guidelines which would later be presented at the meeting of the CEFTA Joint Committee which will be held in Sarajevo on 20.11.2013.

The third day will be dedicated to the meeting of the Joint Committee of CEFTA Agreement, which is a ministerial meeting, preceded by a meeting of the CEFTA expert structures, of which the media will be duly informed.

Media representatives are invited to attend “CEFTA WEEK 2013” on Monday, 18.11.2013 at 14:15 in the Hotel Bristol in order to take statements by Deputy Minister of MoFTER, Ermina Salkičević-Dizdarević, Ambassador Peter Sorensen, and Goran Svilanović, Secretary General of Regional Cooperation Council.
