WORLD TOURISM DAY CELEBRATION



This years host of world tourism day celebration – September 27 - was the Government of the Brcko District.

As part of the celebration themed "Tourism and Sustainable Energy, Strengthening Sustainable Development" there was a forum attended by representatives of the Government of the Brcko District, Brcko District tourism sector, representatives of the Working Group for Coordination of Activities in the Tourism Sector on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brcko District Government, Team Leader of the Project “Technical Assistance to Support Tourism Industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina” - Ms. Mary McKeon, certified guides for the Brcko District, as well as many news teams.

As part of the program, the participants visited the Mayor of the Brcko District, Mr. Miroslav Gavric who, after the reception at the City Hall, together with certified tourist guides from Brcko joined guests for a walk through the city.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH in cooperation with the Working Group for Coordination of Activities in the Tourism Sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina, commemorates World Tourism Day under the theme defined by the World Tourism Organization. This year's theme "Tourism and Sustainable Energy, Strengthening Sustainable Development" is intended to emphasize the need to achieve energy efficiency and environmental protection along with increased use of renewable energy sources in all segments, particularly in the tourism sector in which nature is the basis for development.
