08/14/2018
After the Veterinary Office of BiH prepared an Action Plan for resolving the recommendations of the Mission of the Directorate for Health and Food, analyses and audits of the European Commission, which were conducted from 28 May to 1 June 2018, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH was officially informed that an Action Plan had been adopted for the export of poultry meat to the EU market.
Following the approval of the Action Plan, the European Commission will complete the procedure for amending Commission Regulation (EC) no. 798/2008 in order for Bosnia and Herzegovina to be included in the list of countries from which the export of poultry meat is allowed to the EU, as well as Decision 2007/777, in order to include our country in the list of countries from which the export of poultry meat products to the EU is allowed.
"The most important part of the job has been successfully completed. I expect that these remaining administrative procedures will be finalized as soon as possible, and that this extremely powerful branch of agriculture, which includes 20 000 jobs, will soon go through an expansion," said Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Mirko Šarović.
Following the implementation of the procedures, the Veterinary Office will submit to the European Commission a list of facilities approved for the export of poultry and poultry meat products to the EU so that these facilities could start exporting to the European Union.
