07/29/2014
Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of B&H, Boris Tučić, and Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Hungary, Sándor Fazekas, signed in Budapest today an Agreement on Cooperation in the field of agriculture between the two countries. The Agreement defines modalities of improving mutual cooperation in primary agricultural production and processing.
Expressing his gratitude to the Government, businesses, non-governmental organizations and the people of Hungary, Minister Tučić informed his interlocutors about the scale of the damage in the agricultural sector in B&H caused by the catastrophic flooding in May, and about the activities that are carried out in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the direction of recovery and implementation of short-term, medium-term and long-term measures in this context.
In addition, Minister Tučić familiarised Mr. Fazekas with the activities that are carried out in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to fulfil conditions for the export of products of plant and animal origin to the EU market, as well as with the open question of technical adaptation of the Interim Agreement, i.e. the Stabilization and Association Agreement which B&H has concluded with the European Union, after Croatia's accession to the Union.
Both parties rated the current cooperation between the two countries good, but also pointed out that the said agreement is a sound basis for its further improvement in various areas.
At the press conference, Minister Tučić announced that the agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism between Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina would also be signed soon.
