Sarovic - Field: Unblock the work of BiH Parliamentary Assembly
10/03/2019
Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mirko Sarovic spoke today with the UK Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Matthew Field about the current political situation and the need to continue accelerated work on key issues for Bosnia and Herzegovina and all its citizens.
The interlocutors agreed that it was essential to "unblock" the functioning of the BiH Parliament and to establish the functioning of the system, in order "to move from politics to work on the most important issues in life". "It is important to lower tensions and create a climate for work," said Minister Sarovic, adding that, apart from a major debate on some political coalitions, it is far more important at this point to bring together a sufficient majority, ready to tackle the many issues that are waiting too long for parliamentarians to start working.
It was stressed that in the field of "gas policy" it is important to make clear rules, so that disputes between entity gas companies no longer occur. "We have an entity unwillingness to agree standards, which are harmonized and in compliance with the European legislation," the Minister said.
The meeting shared the view that significant economic and trade progress had been made in Minister Sarovic's term of office, and that the reforms started must be continued. Trade with the United Kingdom has doubled in recent years, while the coverage of imports by exports with the European Union reached a record 71%.
