Record-breaking progress has been made in recent years in trade, and everything indicates that the volume of exchange will reach the targeted billion dollars in the next year, i.e. that the plans will be fully realized, it was emphasized at today's meeting of the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Mirko Šarović, and the Ambassador of the Republic Turkey in BiH, Haldun Koc.

In spite of the major challenges that have been accompanied by global trade in recent months due to the decline in the value of the Turkish lira, the export from Bosnia and Herzegovina is not jeopardized. "The export from our country is constantly increasing. In addition to the fact that the export from Bosnia and Herzegovina exceeded import for the first time, this year we had a significant increase in exports of industrial products," said Minister Šarović.

It was emphasized at the meeting that the foreign trade balance of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been significantly improved by the fact that Minister Šarović and his associates managed to ensure that the export of agricultural products and food, and especially flour, to this country is enormously increased. The situation is similar when it comes to the export of meat given that the safe export quotas have been secured for the first time, and, as it was pointed out, it is expected that the agreed 3 to 4 thousand tons of meat will soon be delivered to this country. Minister Šarović also pointed out the issue of export of glucose sugar to this country, and that it is expected that this issue will be resolved soon with the understanding of the Turkish side.

The interlocutors assessed that there is an increased interest of investors to invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that it is necessary to remove the existing barriers to investment, such as the lack of raw materials for processing, as soon as possible. Minister Šarović emphasized that in this sense he has a clear plan of solution, which, among other things, refers to a reform of the wood industry, i.e. the disruption of further exports of raw materials abroad.
