Germany is Bosnia and Herzegovina's most important foreign trade partner, and an export to this country is continuously increasing, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Mirko Sarovic and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to BiH, Margret Uebbersaid at today's meeting.

The total volume of foreign trade between BiH and Germany is KM 4 billion, and the coverage of imports by export is 75%. "This is an excellent result for us, considering that Germany is economically the leading country in Europe. More importantly, we are exporting to the country a finished product rather than a "raw" material, our companies are working and producing ... It is important that we have shown that we can be competitive with our products in this large market as well," Minister Sarovic said.

The interlocutors agreed that such positive trade indicators should be followed up by increased German investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina. "This is a very important issue because there is a lot of interest of German investors in investing in our country, but they are looking for a favourable environment for investment, stability and predictability of doing business. It has been shown that wherever the influence of politics is greater, the economic indicators are weaker, and that needs to change,” Minister Sarovic noted.

It was emphasized that Germany remains a firm and reliable partner of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU accession process, and stressed the importance of continued support of this country in the most important projects, such as projects in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy.
