Minister Sarovic met today at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina with Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Marek Sewicki.
H.E. Jerzy Chmielewski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Bosnia and Herzegovina also attended the meeting.
The cooperation between the two countries in agriculture and rural development and various aspects of Polish support in this area were discussed at this meeting.
The Ministers paid special attention to the development of IPARD structures in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the experiences that Poland has in this area. Poland, as well as Bosnia ad Herzegovina, has a complex state structure, which means that the development of a decentralized IPARD structure and pre-accession EU assistance in the field of agriculture in this country was very demanding, as is expected to be in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It was noted that foreign exchange between BiH and the Republic of Poland shows a rising trend.
Minister Sarovic and Minister Sawicki expressed their expectations that by the end of the year an Agreement on economic cooperation between the two countries would be signed, especially because of the mutual interest on both sides in investing and promotion of cooperation in the field of veterinary and plant protection
