Minister Sarovic met with Minister of Food Agriculture and Livestock of Republic of Turkey

Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Mirko Sarovic met today at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations with Minister of Food Agriculture and Livestock of Republic of Turkey, Mr. Mehmet Mehdi Eker. Mr. Ahmet Yildiz, Ambassador of Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina also attended the meeting.

Both parties expressed their satisfaction at the soon signing of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of agriculture and rural development between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey.

It was agreed during the meeting that the Veterinary Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina should launch an initiative for a meeting with the Veterinary Directorate of the Republic of Turkey to discuss some key issues within their jurisdiction in order to improve cooperation in the field.

The possibilities of Turkey encouraging imports of meat and milk from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Turkey were also discussed.

Minister Eker informed Minister Sarovic of a number of projects in the field of agriculture that the Turkish side intends to implement in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the amount of one hundred million Euros.

Minister Sarovic thanked Minister Eker and Ambassador Yildiz and expressed the expectation that economic cooperation and trade volume between the two countries would have a rising trajectory in the future, especially through the organization of the Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation, which should be held in late June of this year.
