September 11th, 2012 – On the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, a meeting was held today between Minister Sarovic and a delegation of the European Commission led by the Director-General for Enlargement, Stefano Sannino. Ambassador Peter Sørensen, Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ms. Paola Pampaloni, Head of Unit for Bosnia and Herzegovina of the Directorate General for Enlargement of the European Commission also attended the meeting.

Subjects discussed included Bosnia and Herzegovina’s obligations under the Stabilization and Association Agreement in the light of Croatia’s accession to the EU. Key obligations for BiH are the issue of full implementation of the State Aid Law, and issues in the veterinary and phytosanitary sector.

Minister Sarovic informed the Director-General Sannino about the process of implementation of those obligations that are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations.

It was concluded that, after a number of delays in previous years, there are evident signs of progress in recent months and this is something that the EU fully supports.
