As part of the preparatory activities for the Adriatic Sea Environmental Pollution Control Project(I), and in accordance with the environmental and social safeguards policies and guidelines of the World Bank, Environmental and Social Framework (ESMF) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) for the waste leachate treatment at solid waste landfill in Mostar have been prepared. Public consultations on draft Environmental and Social Framework (ESMF) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) for the waste leachate treatment at solid waste landfill in Mostar were held in the Ministry of foreign trade and economic relation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 27.06.2013.
The project will finance (a) a demonstration investment to reduce Nitrogen discharges through the upgrading of current solid waste leachate treatment in Zadar and Mostar; (b) Technical Assistance for project preparation of priority investments identified as part of hot-spot assessment of the Adriatic Sea and to assess the relative sources of nutrients.
