Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović, in today’s meeting with Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia Rasim Ljajić, signed a memorandum that concluded procedures for significant improvement of economic development and cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia.

This is a Memorandum of mutual cooperation and recognition of documents issued by accredited laboratories for industrial non-food products, which will further remove barriers, facilitate and intensify the mutual trade of two countries, which could soon reach two billion euros a year. "This essentially means that an industrial product, if it has a certificate - an accredited laboratory paper from BiH, can be placed on the market of Serbia without having to be examined by an accredited laboratory from Serbia and vice versa," said Minister Šarović.

Minister Ljajić pointed out that this is another step in the direction of facilitating trade between the two countries, which has been growing year after year. "I think that Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina can represent a great model for all other countries. Out of 13 barriers we have eliminated nine in less than six months. We have also been eliminating the remaining four, but additional funds are needed, as is the case with the expansion and modernization of the border crossings," said Minister Ljajić.

Ministers Šarović and Ljajić also agreed to hold a mixed committee for economic cooperation between our country and the Republic of Serbia.
