12 September 2013, Prague (Czech Republic) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ermina Salkičević- Dizdarević participated in the 21st OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum. The theme for 2013 is related to improving the environmental footprint of energy-related activities throughout the OSCE region. Deputy Minister, as one of the presenters, addressed the forum on the topic of “Strengthening policy and regulatory frameworks and fostering international co-operation to prevent adverse environmental impacts of energy activities“. Other speakers were Mr. Mahmadsharif Khakdodov, Head of the Ecological Commission of the Parliament, Tajikistan; Ms. Maria Germenchuk, Vice-Director of Scientific Centre “Ecology”, Republic of Belarus and Mr. Thomas Wuchte, Head, Action against Terrorism Unit, Transnational Threats Department, OSCE Secretariat. The moderator of this panel was H.E. Ambassador Ol'ga Algayerová, Chair of the Economic and Environmental Committee, Permanent Representative of Slovakia to the OSCE.

The Economic and Environmental Forum is the main and the highest level annual meeting within the economic and environmental dimension of the OSCE. Its objective is to give political stimulus to the dialogue on economic and environmental issues linked to security and to contribute to the elaboration of specific recommendations and follow-up activities to address these challenges.

The Forum meetings bring together every year more than 400 participants representing governments, civil society, business community and other international organizations, to engage in dialogue and consultations on how to address and identify practical solutions for common economic and environmental concerns.
