Deputy Minister Ermina Salkičević-Dizdarević at seminar “Bosnia and Herzegovina and Spain: Business Investment in the Future”

Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Ralations of Bosnia and Herzegoviona, Mrs. Ermina Salkičević-Dizdarević took an acrive role at the seminar on the subject: “Bosnia and Herzegovina and Spain: Business Investment in the Future” held in the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH building in Sarajevo. The Seminar, organized by the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH and the Embassy of Spain in BiH, gathered interested BiH businesspeople, representatives of relevant ministries and other institutions of importance for the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Seminar was organized in order to strengthen and connect BiH and Spanish companies, which is the first step in planned activities for BiH companies to become more familiar with Spanish markets and vice versa.
In the introductory part of the seminar, the participants were addressed by: Duljko Hasić, Director of the Institute for Education of the VTK BiH, Ismet Kumalić, president of the Foreign Trade Chamber, Aurora Mejia, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ermina Salkičević-Dizdarevic, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH.
Deputy Minister Salkićević-Dizdarević said that “the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH in cooperation with the World Bank is implementing activities within a new IFC project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which include creation of a better business environment for foreign investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This project implies strengthening the competitiveness and removal of barriers to doing business in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The ultimate goal of project activities in the coming period is to perform alignment of the BiH legal framework on foreign direct investment policy with the existing laws in this area at the entity level, in order to apply the best practices and create a single economic space.”
In this regard, it was stressed that "the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH will continue to fully support every aspect of activities by institutions responsible for the promotion of investment and exports of the two countries that will be aimed at further strengthening the mutual cooperation, and the establishment of closer ties between the business communities of the two countries. There is an interest for cooperation in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship, where it is possible to find a lot of comparative advantages that would be in the interest of development of economic potential in the two countries. "
In the second part of the seminar, the Foreign Trade Chamber of Commerce, as an association of entrepreneurs from across the country, presented its services, as well as examples of successful economic cooperation. Different experiences of BiH companies in the market of Spain and Spanish companies in the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina were exchanged.
The aim of the seminar was to inform interested businesses entities about institutional relationships, as well as opportunities to further develop economic cooperation between the Kingdom of Spain and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
