Deputy Minister at ceremony awarding Eco-label of Federation of BiH – marking Earth Day

- Deputy Minister Ermina Salkicevic – Dizdarevic and the Head of the Department of Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Mrs. Brankica Pandurevic attended the ceremony awarding the Eco-labels of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Friend of Environment – marking Earh Day 2012. The ceremony was organized by the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism and co-organized by Environmental Protection Fund and the NGO “Ruke iz Sarajeva” , and held in the “Napredak” home on Trebevic. The purpose of marking this day was to raise awareness of the dangers threatening life on Earth due to industrial development and increased energy needs resulting in releasing large amounts of toxic substances into the atmosphere and the increased use of fossil fuels. Many guests at the ceremony were informed that this activity was organized with the intention of raising awareness and respect for the natural environment of our planet, making a difference and encouraging everyone to become aware of the ecological crisis and the need to reconnect with nature.

The campaign “Let’s Do It Bosnia and Herzegovina – World Cleanup 2012” was also presented at this event. The pioneers of this action were Estonia and Slovenia, and based on their positive experience the action has been conducted in 17 other countries around the world.

The Eco-labels of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Friend of Environment - were awarded to deserving companies and individuals who apply environmental standards and best practices: “Weltplast Ltd.” Posusje, “Kovan M.I. Ltd.” from Gracanica and “Zaharex Ltd.” from Srebrenik, as well as Halida Vukovic and Marinko Dalmatin for their significant contribution to environmental protection.
