Deputy Minister represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at Second Dinaric Arc Parks International Conference Big Win

December 2, 2013 - Budva (Montenegro) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ermina Salkičević Dizdarević attended the Second Dinaric Arc Parks International Conference Big Win. The organizers of this Conference were the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro, WWF and IUCN.

The participants were addressed by Mr Branimir Gvozdenović, Minister for Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro, Mr Janez Potočnik, European Commissioner for Environment, representatives of WWF and IUCN and high representatives of the countries in the region.

In her speech, Deputy Minister said: „Aware of the fact that no country in the world can solve difficult and challenging environmental issues alone, we believe that only in dialogue with other countries, through regional actions and binding, we can become successful, efficient and effective, and ready to through rational utilization of natural resources and sustainable management of biodiversity establish a clear and strong basis for the green economy.“

This occasion was also used to adopt the Declaration on joint work on protected areas and conservation of the environment.

The main objectives of the Declaration of the Dinaric Arc are emphasizing the biological and cultural importance of the Dinaric Arc ecoregion, strengthening regional cooperation when it comes to environmental protection, strengthening the EU and other partners in supporting governments in the region to improve the protection of ecosystems.
