September 9-10th, 2012 - Mrs. Ermina Salkicevic-Dizdarevic attended the 12th IAEE European Energy Conference, “Energy challenge and environmental sustainability” in Venice, Italy.
The Conference was organized by the AIEE - together with the International Association for Energy Economics - IAEE in cooperation with Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei and Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
The subjects discussed during the conference were open issues in the field of energy and its economy, as well as environmental sustainability. Apart from these main subjects, the Conference also discussed all the issues related to the environmental change and its new perspectives, such as energy efficiency, developing renewable sources, biofuels and sustainable transportation. On the sidelines of the Conference, Deputy Minister Salkicevic-Dizdarevic had a number of bilateral meetings with conference participants and with potential investors in the energy sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In her talks with conference participants, Mrs. Ermina Salkicevic-Dizdarevic emphasized the state and prospects of the energy sector and gave information regarding energy projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially investments in renewable energy sources, security of supply and energy efficiency. She gave a brief overview of the fulfillment of the LCP Directive and noted that this was an obligation of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the Treaty establishing the Energy Community with a focus on climate change.
