The Conference on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources, attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mrs. Ermina Salkicevic-Dizdarevic, is being held on 20 and 21 September 2012 as part of the Zagreb Fair. This year’s Fair is focused on modern technology in the production and use of energy and heat from renewable sources.




The Conference on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources is the largest regional conference, gathering experts whose knowledge is the precondition for the development of the entire society.

It is a unique event in the region, a business and expert convention tackling and analyzing the most significant topics in the energy sector.

The conference brings together representatives of the Croatian Government who presented to the professional business audience, as well as the general public, guidelines for further development of the energy sector and direct and indirect incentives related to energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Participants were addressed by Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Mr. Josko Klisovic, vice president of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Jasminka Trzun, representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Croatia, Ministry of Physical Planning and Construction of RC, Ministry of Environment and Nature of RC, Ministry of Agriculture of RC, Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund of RC, and other experts in that particular area.

During this year’s two-day conference, the following topics are being addressed:

- Challenges of the National Action Plan (NAP),

- Energy efficiency: Strategic goals in the Republic of Croatia

- Nearly zero energy building, low-energy and passive construction

- Investments into renewable energy sources and use of EU funds, Environmental Protection and

Energy Efficiency Fund

- Biomass and Biogas – holders of local development,

- Research and use of geothermal energy in the Republic of Croatia,

- Status and prospects of using solar energy in the Republic of Croatia,

- Wind power plant management strategy,

The goal of the Conference is to promote business opportunities and to direct investments towards energy efficiency projects and the use of renewable energy sources.
