Minister Sarovic with the delegation of the People's Republic of China: Number of Chinese tourists in BiH doubles

At today’s meeting between the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Sarovic and the delegation of the People’s Republic of China and Nanjing Cityit was stated that number of Chinese tourists is doubling every year and it is expected that around 100.000 Chinese tourists will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina by the end of the year.

The meeting assessed that the evident, accelerated development of tourism cooperation was significantly contributed by the last year's entry into force of the Visa-Free Regime Agreement between the two countries, as well as the Memorandum on facilitating group travel of Chinese tourists to BiH, and in the first eight months of 2019, about 65,000 tourists visited Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

Minister Sarovic, as national co-ordinator for cooperation with the People's Republic of China, pointed out that the two countries, in addition to significant trade and economic agreements have very useful cooperation through the China 17 + 1 Platform and One Belt One Road Initiative. "In the past, we have had large and valuable investments made with the People's Republic of China, such as the Thermal Power Plant Stanari, and the start of construction of Tuzla Block 7. The intensity of our cooperation is illustrated by an interesting example of a company from Herzegovina exporting processed stone to China," Minister Sarovic said on this occasion.

 

People's Political Consultative Conference chairman of Nanjing, Liu Yian, highlighted the successful cooperation of firms from our country and China, stating that 48 Chinese firms currently cooperate with BiH companies.

 

Nanjing is one of China's most economically developed cities, with a population of more than 8 million, and one of China's most important economic centres.
