Sector for water resources, tourism and environmental protection
Competences:
Drafting laws and by-laws in the field of water;
Development of expert analyses, information and suggestions related to the situation in the field of environmental protection, water management and tourism;
Identifying strategies and development policies in the field of environmental protection, water management and tourism, and proposing measures to improve the situation;
Collecting, monitoring and analysing data on environmental protection and water resources management;
Collecting, monitoring and analysing data on trends in the field of tourism in the country and the world, and the impacts these trends have on the situation in the country;
Monitoring and implementation of international and domestic initiatives, conventions, projects and programs in these areas;
Preparing and leading the process of BiH's accession to new international agreements (conventions and protocols);
Reporting of institutions in the country and abroad on the state in the field of environmental protection, water management and tourism;
Cooperation with relevant institutions at the state and entity level;
Cooperation with relevant institutions at the state and entity level in order to promote tourism in the country and abroad;
Analytical monitoring and the production of expert analyses, information and opinions in the field of environmental issues and international cooperation related to sustainable development, as well as the development and implementation of its own BiH programs and strategic documents and international studies in this field;
Cooperation with the structures of the European Union (European Commission, Environmental Agency, and others) in the field of development of environmental policy of BiH and the harmonization of BiH legislation and regulations, as well as environmental standards, with the standards and regulations of the European Union, and their implementation in practice.
Other activities within the framework of international and domestic cooperation that prove necessary for adequate monitoring of the situation, implementation of policies and implementation of necessary measures and projects for the purpose of sustainable management in the fields within the competence of the Sector.
