Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mirko Sarovic, Head of the Swedish Embassy Cooperation Office in BiH, Marie Bergström and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Deputy Resident Representative in BiH, Sukhrob Khoshmukhamedov today signed an agreement to enable energy management in the public institutions.

"This is an additional financing agreement in the amount of KM 1.2 million intended for the establishment of an energy management system in BiH. Through this project, which is just one of a series, training of 80 energy management officers will be implemented, IT equipment will be purchased and a database for 40 facilities used or owned by the state will be created. We are convinced that after this project, we will be able to save 20 percent of energy annually," Minister Sarovic said on this occasion.

By signing this Agreement, Bosnia and Herzegovina has become the first country in the region to implement an overall energy management system in public buildings, which will ultimately contribute to the overall reduction of energy consumption at both national and lower levels.
